I also have a great idea for a certain type of recipe scrapbooking album you can create.  I lost my mother to lung cancer two years ago and my mom was a great cook and I have several of her recipes that were my favorites that she would make for our family.  So, I have decided to create a recipe scrapbooking album of these favorite recipes to give to my children and to my siblings.  This will be a reminder of her whenever we open up this recipe scrapbooking album.  It will, I’m sure, bring back all kinds of wonderful memories as I am creating it and whenever I look at it.

I thought of another ideas when it comes to finding pictures for the scrapbooking album.  If you do not want to take pictures of the food that you will be using in your scrapbooking album, then you can do a search on the internet and then right-click on the picture and do a “Save picture as” and then put it in a  folder on your desktop titled “Recipe Photos” and then you can refer to it when you are ready to print out the picture and add it to your recipe scrapbooking album.

Here area some quick and easy steps to create a chipboard scrapbooking album:

1 – Gather your supplies. Choose some patterned paper, chipboard and letter stickers, tags or labels, rubons and fun embellishments, such as ribbon, buttons, bling, charms, etc. I decided to keep my supplies fairly limited, and chose a color palette that goes nicely with my pictures to create a cohesive scrapbooking album.

2 – Measure and trim patterned paper to the size of your cover. Then, adhere the paper to the scrapbooking album (front and back). I love the Hermafix dots for this step. They give great coverage, and won’t buckle your paper. You can also add a layer of Mod Podge on the top of the paper, at this point, for durability. However, this is optional.

3 – Now the scrapbooking album is ready for the title elements, which are the chipboard and letter stickers, tags or labels, and rubons. You can first alter the chipboard letters with paint, patterned paper or stamping if you prefer. I like to use either Hermafix or a strong liquid glue (like the Green Tombow) for chipboard letters.

4 – Add all of the fun embellishments that we talked about in step #1 above. Glue dots are great to use for heavier embellishments.

5 – To give the cover a finished look, I ink the edges with a chalk ink or just the regular chalks. You could also use a little paint for this purpose too.

Tada! You are now ready to add photos and journaling and you have completed your scrapbooking album.
